I am 18, and a freshman in college. After this year of school i want to join the guard but only if i will see combat and can get my remaining 3 years of college paid for. What are the chances that my college will be paid for seeing as i go to a state college already if i join the infantry for the guard. I want to fight in Afghanistan and do my duty but want to come back and get a degree in criminal justice.

you should ask a pro on this one. but yes a friend told me that the national guard will pay for everything, but I think that’s if you signed through them first. And yes i’m sure you will see combat. I am trying to join the Navy. Thankyou for serving our county.

I want to join the Marines, and several people who are Marines tell me that it takes a few shots with an M16A4 to take down a target. However, a few of them have also told me that they were able to bring guns that they bought with them. Does that mean that the USMC allows Marines to buy guns aside from the ones issued and bring them into combat?

No, you cant bring weapons you buy on your own with you anywhere. The M16A4 is a superb weapon and the fact that you can sink a few bullets accurately into a target is testament to its ability to shoot well.
